The health ministry has asked the Chattogram district administration to acquire two private hospitals in the port city for treatment of patients infected with Covid-19.
The health ministry issued the circular today in the wake of a shortage of seats in government hospitals while the number of Covid-19 patients keep increasing, reports our Chattogram correspondent.
In the circular, the health ministry asked the Chattogram district administration to take necessary steps in acquiring Imperial Hospital and Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital in Khulshi area to ensure accommodation of Covid-19 patients.
Md Elias Hossen, deputy commissioner of Chattogram, told The Daily Star that they will sit for a meeting with authorities of the two hospitals tomorrow to settle the issue.
