The Department of Information and Communication Technology is going to start work on a new project to create 50,000 more women entrepreneurs in 43 districts.
State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak said this while participating in a webinar titled ‘MLS Entrepreneur’s School’ on June 22. The state minister inaugurated the online education platform BYEAH (Bangladesh Youth Enterprise Advice & Helpcentre) at the event.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that entrepreneurs are the backbone of a country. An entrepreneur can create hundreds of jobs than being subordinate to somebody else.
In his speech, Palak called for using the internet as the main driving force of livelihood and not just as a tool for entertainment.
BYEAH is an effective platform for young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. Speaking on the occasion, BYEAH Founder Chairperson Abdul Muhid Chowdhury said it would help young entrepreneurs start, expand and create more jobs through business consulting, training, mentoring and building networks with financial institutions.
BYEAH Executive Director Ashfaq Haque and other concerned entrepreneurs were also present on the occasion.
Anita Taisin, CEO of Youth Business International and Dr. Md. Mofizur Rahman, Managing Director of SME Foundation were present as special guests on the occasion.
Anita Taisin, In her speech, emphasized the importance of creating entrepreneurs and on the other hand, the managing director of the SME Foundation called on BYEAH, to work with the SME Foundation.
