The house of a Saudi returnee was locked down in Kalisangpur area of the district town on Thursday after his 7-month son was hospitalized with coronavirus symptoms.
The minor boy was kept in the Isolation ward of 250-bed Kushtia General Hospital with fever and cold.
Doctor Taposh Kumar Sarker, resident medical officer of the hospital, said hiding information that there was an overseas returnee in the family, the minor boy was admitted to the hospital on March 23.
As the condition deteriorated today (Thursday), the family members informed the doctor that the boy’s father Towhidul Islam returned from Singapore on March 9.
Later, the baby was shifted to the Isolation Ward.
On information, district administration locked down the house, said Sadar Upazila Nirbahi officer Jubayer Hossain Chowdhury.
He also hanged a red flag on the house for identification.
The UNO said that all the family members have been asked to strictly follow the home quarantine rules.
