Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to inaugurate activities of two police stations (Thana) located at Padma Bridge North and South at 3pm on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister will also hand over 120 houses, constructed by Bangladesh Police in the second phase, modernization works of 12 Police Hospitals, six Women’s Barracks and online GD system virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police of the Police Headquarters Md Kamruzzaman said the two police stations are Padma Bridge (North) Thana and Padma bridge (South) Thana.
He said Bangladesh Police constructed a total of 520 houses for homeless people across the country marking the Mujib Barsha, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
As part of the government campaign to bring all homeless and landless people under housing facility, Bangladesh Police constructed the houses with its own money remaining across the country, the AIG, also responsible for dealing media, said.
Earlier, the Prime Minister handed over 400 houses to homeless people on April 10 this year, which was constructed by the Bangladesh Police, he said.
Kamruzzaman said in the second phase police constructed 120 houses for homeless people under various police stations.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will open activities of modernization works of 12 Police Hospitals, six Women’s Barracks under modernization project.
