A department head of Sirajganj’s Rabindra University, who ordered haircut for 14 students against their will, has resigned.
Farhana Yasmin Baten, head of the Department of History, Culture and Bangladesh Studies of the university, submitted her resignation last night amid a student protest.
Meanwhile the students on Monday 27th September boycotted exams and protested, demanding removal of the department head.
The students boycotted yesterday’s exams and started protesting in front of the administrative building of the university, demanding removal of Farhana Yasmin Baten, head of the Department of History, Culture and Bangladesh Studies.
Before the examination started on September 25, the head of the department instructed the students to trim their hair before entering exam hall.
