Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the educational institutions across the country will be reopened in phases due to the prevailing situation triggered by COVID-19.
She made the remark while formally publishing the SSC results through a videoconference from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital on Saunday morning.”Schools and colleges will reopen in phases considering safety of all students,” she said.
She also urged the students to continue their studies at home in such situation created due to coronavirus outbreak.
Eighty two point eighty seven (82.87 percent) percent students came out successfully in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations.
However, some 1,35,898 students got GPA-5 this year.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the results at a video conference today.
This year the student pass rate of Cumilla Board was 85.22% Chattogram- 84.75%, Dinajpur- 82.73%, Mymensingh- 80.13%, Sylhet- 78.79%, Barishal- 79.70%, Jashore- 87.31%.Some 10,245 students attained A+ from Cumilla Board, 9,008 from Chattogram, 12,086 from Dinajpur, 7.434 from Mymensingh, 4,263 from Sylhet, 4,483 from Barishal and 13,764 from Jashore.
This year, the results will not be sent to educational institutions to avoid gatherings amid the coronavirus outbreak across the country.
For the first time, the results of SSC and equivalent exams will reach examinees or their guardians via SMS.
Students do not have to go to schools to know the results. They will be able to know the results through SMS.
The education boards conducted pre-registration of candidates to provide the results, which was continue till 24 hours before publication of the results.
To avail the results via SMS, a student will have to type SSC (space) first three letters of board (space) roll number (space) exam year and send to 16222 from any mobile phone at a cost of Tk 2.55.
The candidates also can visit the website http://www.educationboardresults.gov.bd/ to get their SSC and equivalent exams results.
At least 2.4 million students appeared at SSC and equivalent exams from Feb 3 to 27 at 3,512 centres from around 28,884 educational institutions across the country.
