Singapore Airlines to resume Dhaka flights from Oct 20

Initially the airlines will operate two weekly flights from Dhaka after a suspension of flight operations following the global Covid-19 pandemic since middle of March.

Flight SQ 0447 will depart Dhaka at 23:55 and arrive in Singapore at 06:05 on Tuesdays and Thursdays while the return flight SQ 0446 will depart Singapore at 20:35 and land in Dhaka at 22:40 on the same days, the airline said in a circular. All times are local.

The airline will operate A350-900 on the Singapore-Dhaka-Singapore route, the airline also said.

SIA further stated that Covid-19 test from Bangladesh is not required to enter Singapore.

Therefore, all arriving passengers are required to submit a health declaration within three days prior to the date of arrival into Singapore.

The health declaration can be submitted via the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) at https://www.ica.gov.sg/eservicesandforms/e-arrival-card.

Besides, all arriving passengers must undergo 14 days Stay Home Notice (SHN) on arrival in Singapore.

When staying at SHN Dedicated Facilities (SDF), all SHN and Covid-19 test costs (approx SGD 2,200) shall be borne by the passenger. Covid-19 test will be conducted before the end of SHN in Singapore.

Also, passengers cannot be received by anyone at Changi Airport.

Moreover, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has implemented certain restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

For instance, short term visitors are not allowed to enter Singapore, except with approval letter from respective Singapore government agencies, i.e. medical grounds, having waiver certificate from Ministry of Health Singapore.

No additional permission is required for Singapore citizens to return back to the country. Singapore permanent residents can also return with valid re-entry visas.

Work pass holders are required to have additional approval letter from Ministry of Manpower Singapore to enter the country.

Student pass holders are also required to have additional approval letter from Ministry of Education Singapore.

It may be mentioned here that as per the current policy, transit in Singapore for onward destination is not permitted for passengers departing from Bangladesh until further notice.

The above mentioned criteria are applicable to all the passengers who wish to enter Singapore.
