The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has approved emergency use of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine in the country, reports our correspondent.
With this, a total of six vaccines got approval in Bangladesh for emergency use.
A press notification signed by DGDA Director General Major General Md Mahbubur Rahman on Tuesday revealed the approval of the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine produced by Belgium.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) approved this vaccine for emergency use on March 12.
On February 27, the US Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorisation (EUA) for the third vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 and the European Union (EU) gave emergency use approval to this vaccine on March 11.
