Al-Arafah Islami Bank 7th Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad (BDJSO 2021) national level has been held to form the Bangladesh team of the 18th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2021) to be held in Abu Dhabi.
On Friday (August 13) morning, about one and a half thousand students selected from the online regional episode participated in this level.
The online national event was held in four categories: Primary (3rd-5th), Junior (6th-8th), Secondary (9th-10th) and Special (those born after 11th-12th January 2006). Physics, Chemistry and Biology, these 3 subjects have been tested in this episode following the question system of the International Junior Science Olympiad.
According to the organizing committee, the results of the national event will be published on the website of the Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad soon. The national camp of the Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad will be held with the selected candidates on the basis of results. Later, a 6-member IJSO full team will be formed based on the results of all rounds of camp evaluation and BDJSO.
Earlier, about 13,000 students from across the country registered and participated in the BDJSO online regional round held on August 6. Due to the Corona pandemic, this year’s Olympiad is being held completely online.
Every year since 2015, Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad (BDJSO) has been organized to form a full 6 member IJSO Bangladesh team to represent Bangladesh in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). This year IJSO 2021 will be held in Abu Dhabi.
BDJSO-2021 is being jointly organized by the Bangladesh Science Popularization Society and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation.
