A total of 327 Japanese citizens left Bangladesh for their country on Thursday.
A chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying them took off from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the morning, said Mokabbir Hossain, the managing director of the national flag carrier.
Sohel Kamruzzaman, assistant director (public relation) of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab), said the flight took off for Japan around 10:19am.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 54 coronavirus cases and six deaths.
A group of US citizens recently returned to their country voluntarily amid the coronavirus outbreak. The embassy in Dhaka is arranging a second chartered flight for US citizens willing to go back home.
Coronavirus, first reported in China in December last year, has so far infected 937,567 people and killed 47,256 of them, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Japan has confirmed 2,384 cases and 57 deaths while in the US, there have been 216,721 cases and more than 1,300 deaths.
