Brief description:
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) does not charge tuition fees for all international students who wish to undertake the 2-year International master’s programmes which are taught entirely in English.

There are no tuition fees at NTNU. But students need to cover their own living expenses. Furthermore, all international students who are not citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA countries must have enough funding to live in Norway in order to be granted a student visa.
Eligibility:
Applicants to the tuition-free Masters degree programmes in English must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a grade point average of at least C. See the study programme of your choice for specific academic requirements on the official website (link found below). The Bachelors degree must have been completed by the start of the semester at NTNU in August.
You must have a good command of English at an academic level and you need to provide TOEFL/IELTS test scores. See the official website for NTNU’s English requirements. English tests must be taken no more than 2 years old ago. This means that tests taken before 1 December 2 years prior to your application will not be accepted. The only exception is the Cambridge test, which is valid for life.
How to prove English proficiency:
To be eligible to apply you will need to have at least one of the requisites in the list below:
- TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language):
- Minimum score of 90 points on the internet based test
- minimum score of 600 points on the paper based test
- IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)
- academic test with a minimum overall band score of 6.5

International master’s degrees are programmes taught entirely in English. For the majority of the degrees, the student will spend the full two years at NTNU.
